Our Story
In 1985, Chen Limin came to the United States with dreams and pursued a master’s degree in business administration at Texas A&M University. Since then, he has been involved in the business world, experiencing ups and downs from running a supermarket to venturing into the catering industry. In 2015, he was imprisoned due to past mistakes. However, this period became an opportunity for him to reflect and grow. He studied the “I Ching” and many other things in prison and achieved self-transformation.
After being released from prison in 2019, he took over a store in Oriental Pearl Plaza and founded Eat Joy Food. The road to entrepreneurship was full of difficulties, with the impact of the pandemic and operating losses. But he persevered with firm belief and dedication to food. Finally, on July 11, 2023, Eat Joy Food was awarded the Michelin “Bib Gourmands” title. This honor not only recognizes the restaurant’s delicious food but also serves as a shining medal for Chen Limin’s eventful life. He interprets his love for catering and his unyielding attitude towards life with his experiences.
